Boishaki Mela at Olympic Park, 2014
Bangabandhu Council Australia organised a Baishaki Mela on the 26th of April 2014, at Homebush Olympic Park Athletics Centre. There were many stalls nicely decorated around the Athletic track. The weather was perfect; there was a huge turnout. The Athletic centre was full with people. During the day there were numerous programs such as children’s performances, recitations, a fashion show and performances by cultural groups and local artists. Few artists came from Bangladesh. The mela ended with some spectacular fireworks display.
