Boishaki at Gold Coast 2014:
Bangladesh Society Gold Coast (BSGC) organised a Boishaki Mela on the 18th May 2014 at Upper Coomera Community Centre, Gold Coast. This is the1st time that any Bangladeshi events have been organised at this brand new venue with modern facilities. It was an excellent venue for this event, with a high quality sound system and a HD screen which made the program much more successful and enjoyable. There were many stalls nicely decorated around the Hall room. Many people came from Brisbane and surrounding cities and enjoyed the day. There were many programs such as children’s performances, recitations, mini drama, fashion show, prize distribution, Raffle Draw and performances by both local and interstate artists. The President of BSGC, Dr. Shahadat Hossain gave a short speech and thanked the audience as well as the community members for arranging such a wonderful event. The program ended with the solo performance of the guest artist Amia Matin. It was an enjoyable event.
