Professor A Halim, ex BAU teacher now in Sydney

Professor A Halim, ex. teacher of BAU (Bangladesh Agricultural University) now in Sydney. After completion of an official tour to Queensland, now he is in Sydney for few days. He was very famous and popular teacher of  BAU and a distinguished international expert of Agricultural Extension. He was the ex-VC (Rector) of the BSMR Agricultural University (previously known as IPSA) at Joydebpur. Currently Prof Halim is the Head of the Department of Agriculture, the Papua New Guinea University of Technology.

Sydney Krishibid had a nice get-together to meet Dr Halim on Sunday 9th. About 130 to150 of his ex students, colleagues and their family meet for lunch, fun and talk. His relative Mr Zaherul Islam organised this party on to his backyard which gave a wonderful opportunity to Sydney krishibid to meet their favourite personality in overseas.

His speech was great, where he suggests to all immigrants to be proud with his own cultural or religious believes in this multicultural society. Secret of his success as he mentioned, follow the successful elders and work with innovative ideas.

Some of his ex students also gave talks on this occasion. Our Krishibid coordinator Dr Nizam Ahmed thanked Krishibid Zaherul Islam and his family and friends for organising such a nice gathering. Dr Qaiyum Parvez took the opportunity from this crowd to collect some donations for Bappi, son of a Bangladesh Rice Research Institute colleague (see details of sick Bappi from one of Dr Parvez’s article of this web).
